  In undulating pasture, on NE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 20m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.9m). Much of bank and all of interior are covered by dense overgrowth.   Description

  In undulating pasture, on N-facing slope. Oval area (19m N-S; 15m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 5m; Wth 14m) NE->SE, and enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.65m) with external fosse (D 0.7m; Wth 1.2m) S->NE. Bank is truncated by E-W field boundary SE->S. Interior level and under grass except for slight dip inside bank S->W which is covered in rushes.   Description

  In marshy terrain, on N-facing slope. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled but trace of enclosing element discernible NW->SW. This consists of slight scarped edge (H c. 0.25m; Wth 3m) with external fosse (D c. 0.95m; Wth c. 5m). There are traces of a slight counterscarp bank NW->NE and E->SE (H c. 0.25m). Enclosure truncated SW->NW by N-S field boundary. Immediately beyond field boundary to W is ringfort (LI017-029---) probably conjoined with this one. • LI017-032 Megalithic structure
  Description

  In a plantation of coniferous trees. There is now no evident surface trace of the 'dolmen' excavated in 1935 by T.F. Riley on behalf of National Museum of Ireland after a polished stone axe was found 'inside the dolmen' by local school children. According to the excavator 'the most careful searching failed to reveal any trace of either artefact or skeletal material' (NMI). The sketch accompanying this report shows a capstone (gable-shaped in plan: c. 1.5m x c. 1.7m) supported along its edge by seven irregularly placed uprights. The report also mentions another 'dolmen' (LI017-034---), a 'mound' (LI017-035---) and a 'pillar stone' (LI017-036---) in the vicinity.   Description

  In a plantation of coniferous trees. There is now no evident surface trace of the 'second overturned dolmen' mentioned by T.F. Riley in his report on the excavation of a 'dolmen' in 1935 (NMI). The site is located on an accompanying sketch map 50m E of the excavated 'dolmen' (LI017-032---).   Description

  In a plantation of coniferous trees. There is now no evident trace of the 'mound' mentioned by T.F. Riley in his report on the excavation of a 'dolmen' in 1935 (NMI top. files). The mound is located on his sketch map c. 50m ESE of the dolmen (LI017-032---). According to local information the mound was removed when the trees were planted here in the 1970s.
