The proposed development on these parcels comprises of 755,000sqm of solar photovoltaic panels on ground mounted steel frames; inverter/transformer stations; underground power and communication cables and ducts; boundary security fencing; new internal access tracks; associated drainage infrastructure; site entrances to the R507 public road(site entrance to main solar farm) and the L5040 public local road(North Parcel); CCTV cameras and all associated site services and works. Works for the internal network cable comprise trenching for an underground medium voltage electrical cable and associated joint bays and infrastructure, for a distance of approximately 560 metres on the R507 Regional Road, approximately 100 metres on the L5040 Local Road and approximately 1,260m within the solar farm lands. As part of a separate Strategic Infrastructure Development(SID) planning application provision of a 110kV electrical substation with electrical control building, associated compound with palisade fence and 2no. overhead line masts, which is to be located within the main solar farm, will be lodged with An Bord Pleanála in due course. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application

• LI024-085 Earthwork
  Description

  In level pasture, with railway line immediately to NE and a stream 160m to SW which marks townland boundary with Gortaclareen. Surveyed by the ASI in 2008 and described as a raised circular-shaped area (14m E-W; 12m N-S) defined by a scarp (Wth 1.85m; H 0.5m) that has been quarried from NE-E-ENE and at WNW. There is a steep downslope to N between the monument and the railway embankment (long-axis ESE–WNW). Monument visible as a roughly oval-shaped partially scrub covered earthwork on Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. See attached sketch plan and cross-sections surveyed and drawn by the ASI. • LI024-208 Mound
  Description

  On flat pasture 25m N of the N24. Earthwork (LI024-085----) 200m to W. The mound is not depicted on the OSi historic maps. The mound is visible as a disturbed area on the OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12 and on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified as a monument by the Bruff aerial photographic survey (Bruff 19: AP 4/3622). The mound (ext. diam. c. 21m) appears largely to be comprised of a ditched enclosure visible on aerial images. The site has been levelled and does not survive as an obvious above ground feature on Digital Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. There is a potential ring-barrow 80m NW of the site (LI024-208----), it is faintly visible on the Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018.
