Description
In a tree copse in gently rolling pastureland and immediately to the W of a N-S running road. This well-preserved circular rath (diam. 41m) is defined by a bank and external fosse except from NE to ENE where no visible surface trace survives. In pastureland. A circular ring-barrow (diam. 13.3m), in fair condition, comprising a low flat-topped central mound (diam. 4.1m; H 0.2-0.55m) encircled by a fosse and external bank. Description
Cody (1989, 164-5) recorded a ‘weather-beaten’ standing stone (H 0.85m; base Wth 0.7m; T 0.55m) in woodland; it was roughly subrectangular in plan and aligned NNW-SSE. No visible surface trace survives. it was probably removed during the subsequent clearing of the woodland; a factory now occupies the site.
